Origins

I came back to Madras on Diwali night. As the pilot announced landing, I keenly looked out of the airplane window scoping for fireworks. That would have been great view from above. Unfortunately It was already 11:30. This was how the airport welcomed us that night.

It was 7.30 p.m. and I could hear random explosions and cheers from all around the apartment. I climbed the stairs to the rooftop patio and sat there watching a hundred sky rockets all around me, a great panorama. I wish I’d taken my phone along!

It was 7.30 pm again. Fireworks were fewer and the city was beginning to stir up to its regular buzz. A closer look at the pyro works:

This instantly reminded me of the animated scene from ‘3 Idiots’ . “Life is a race…”. Zoom in and see that not two streaks of fire are alike. Just like zygotes!

Dear readers, finally I have pushed myself to publish online, after having failed twice in the last few years because of a flawed perfectionism and precise procrastination.
